Fun Bits Escape Plan Intro Concept

An early concept for a Fun Bits intro & explosion exploration. :)
Created in 3DS Max, Photoshop and After Effects,

Merry Xmas from Fun Bits

The xmas card I designed for Fun Bits Interactive (FBi) saw the light of day today on Kotaku.

I did have initial concerns about showing Santa having a body cavity search, but I think it’s quite tastefully done. ;)

The Marvellous Mechanical Mouse Organ

Based upon another illustration I did a ways back, I thought it would be nice to animate this in 3DS Max. It took a day to build, texture and animate but another full day to render it. I just wish I had the processing power to add caustics to the scene, but ho hum.

Oh. And if you think the mouse heart is far too big for the scene, that’s because all of this takes place in a shoe box. ;)

Battersea Power Station

I’ve always held a fascination for Battersea Power Station. Such a grand Art Deco building, but also reminiscent of a dead cow lying on it’s back. :)

Would be nice to pluck it up and place it somewhere where it can be enjoyed more. So, I suggest we tie a lot of balloons to it and float it away somewhere nice. By the Sea perhaps ? Battersea-by-the-sea. Click for skegbigness.

Fun Bits Advert

This was designed for the Kill Screen Magazine, issue #2. The arcade cabinet is printed on transparent paper, allowing the reader to see through to the inner workings of Fun Bits.

3DS Max Cloth

Been recently playing around with the cloth features of 3DStudio Max to some varying effects.
I quite like this effect. It reminds me of when, in the movie The Thing, the guy’s head on the operating table stretches over the edge with the same visceral popping action.

Perhaps one day I might make use of this technique, but it seems fitting for Halloween week !

Happy Halloween !!
