8 ways to be a Zombie in an Independent British Movie.

Invasion of the Not Quite Dead

The Indywood Project was originally launched in Jan 2007 by filmmaker and & entrepeneur AD Lane. Straight out of film school, he had a unique idea for a horror film and began marketing it on the internet.

Learning the hard way, Antony found that noone wanted to take a chance on him or his quirky horror film “Invasion of the Not Quite Dead”. Despite no money coming in to make his movie, Antony never gave up hope and worked full time on the project, spending thousands of hours promoting his film and attempting several different ideas to try and raise his budget independently, non of which was successful.

After being brutally attacked in 2008 and left with a broken bone to the back, Antony lost a lot of confidence and his movie project seem over. Early 2009 saw a new Antony back with a passion to see his film made and in May of 2009 he relaunched his Indywood Project with a crazy idea to fan fund his feature, as a huge fan base had grown over the years. So he began selling pre order producer packages giving film fans a chance to contribute financially and get involved during the production.

In 2009 Antony revolutionised the film community with his producer perks idea, taking a real risk. An idea that is now being used all over the world by hundreds of independant filmmakers. Since 2009 his fundraising site has sold close to 600 pre-order producer packages to film fans from 20 different countries, raising over £20,000 showing that fans can bring an independent horror movie to life.

‘Invasion of the Not Quite Dead’ will begin shooting in early 2011 with Hollywood actor Zach Galligan (Gremlins) and is being supported by such legends as Kevin Pollak, Tom Savini, David Hess, Leslie Simpson, Ken Russell, Lee Boardman, Gale Anne Hurd, the band Wheatus who will be doing original music and our very own Jonathan Ross who supported the project by taking a pre order.

3DS Max Cloth

Been recently playing around with the cloth features of 3DStudio Max to some varying effects.
I quite like this effect. It reminds me of when, in the movie The Thing, the guy’s head on the operating table stretches over the edge with the same visceral popping action.

Perhaps one day I might make use of this technique, but it seems fitting for Halloween week !

Happy Halloween !!
